Tiny granny squares in three colors
I gave myself this task: Play with 3 parameters and try to find all possible variations:
- Tininess
- Three colors
- in three rows
I admit I like restrictions, because they are helping me to make decisions. Without them i usually get lost in a vast sea of possibilities.
These mini granny squares have a diameter of 3 cm. I used this very classical granny pattern instruction from Katie Jones. She is a British crocheting and granny squares designer with beautiful, bold and colorful designs. I like her work.

The story with the loose ends
Everybody knows it: Never leave all the thread ends loose. It is a wise decision to weave in the thread ends just after finishing each granny square. As you can see I did not make this decision :-/
So i spent quite a few hours at once cleaning them up all together. Swearing i will not make this mistake again. We will see, *sigh*
As a trained seamstress i learned to cut every thread – just after i finished the seam. It´s a great habit: Never loose ends hanging around while i progress, i love it. I should form this habit in crocheting too i guess.

Scrunchie with mini granny squares

I stitched 10 mini granny squares on this beautiful bluegrey satin cloth and made this unique scrunchie.
And another color range
Same story in other colors plus one bright granny:
