During my granny square crocheting fever i enjoyed to make this flower pattern so much, that i could not stop. Thus i crocheted six squares in slightly different color variations.

I found the pattern for the flower granny square in a crocheting book from my beloved public library.
Hook size: 3 mm
And here is the result: Cute bottle sleeves for my big and my small water bottle.

The big water bottle sleeve
is made of four flower granny squares for my 0,5 liter water bottle

The grannies are crocheted together with single crochet stitches, vertically on the inside, horizontally on the outside in dark blue. Do the same with the circle and the body of the bag.
How to make the stopper

For the stopper i used a piece of faux suede with the height of 2 cm and (in my case) the length of 7 cm. This depends on the gauge of your cord.
Fold the piece of suede around your cord and sew it together twice, once in the middle and once outside as close as possible to the cord.
The end of the cord is swathed very strong with cotton yarn. Here it is important to suture the end of the yarn very well (inside the cord).
The small water bottle sleeve
is made of two flower granny squares for my 0,25 liter water bottle. The crocheted handle has got a cord in the center for strength.

The grannies are crocheted together on the outside with single crochet stitches.
How to make the bottom circle

Here you can find the instructions for making a perfect circle (in german).
I crocheted 4 rounds in light blue and 6 rounds in dark blue.
The circle and the body of the bag are crocheted together with single crochet stitches in dark blue.
Finish the upper edge with a row of single crochets in dark blue.
How to make the handle

Begin with as much chain stitches as you need for your wished length (75 cm) in light blue.
Turn your work around and work a row of single crochets (Am.).
Start on the beginning (right side) and crochet around your cord with a row of single crochets and chain stitches alternately in dark blue. Make a stitch in every second loop.
Start again on the beginning (right side) and crochet a row of single crochets in lavender.
Start again on the beginning (right side) and crochet a row of slip stitches in lavender as last row.
Conclusio
Besides being cute these sleeves are really functional, because the volume of the flowers makes a great protection for the bottles.
